Males and Females: An Islamic Perspective
Males and Females: An Islamic Perspective
In a time when ideas about gender, sexuality, and identity are rapidly shifting, Males and Females: An Islamic Perspective offers a clear and comprehensive examination of these issues through the lens of faith, reason, and biology.
Drawing upon the Qur’an, Hadith, and the Bible, Adam Abdullah Brown presents a detailed analysis of Islam’s teachings on the natural distinctions between men and women, the moral framework governing marriage and sexuality, and the broader social consequences of modern legislation and cultural trends.
Addressing topics such as same-sex relationships, gender identity, marriage, and the welfare of children, this book seeks to reaffirm foundational truths about human creation and relationships as understood within the Islamic tradition. With references to both scripture and science, Males and Females aims to equip readers—particularly young Muslims navigating Western societies—with clarity, confidence, and a renewed appreciation of divine wisdom in human design.
Adam Abdullah Brown holds an MA (Hons) and PhD in Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh. He has taught and held senior academic positions at universities in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and New Zealand, including the National Institute of Education in Singapore and Auckland Institute of Studies.
