MANCHESTER, UK, Nov 2016 – Understanding the Quran and the religion of Islam is more important in today’s politically-charged climate than in any other era in human history. Perhaps then it is all the more ironic that in order to get what many consider to be a fully comprehensive understanding, we must go back in time.
Seven centuries ago the premier text on the Quran is read, taught, discussed and analysed was Tafsir al-Baydawi. Even today, 1400 manuscripts and 300 supercommentaries exist in the libraries of the world.
Now, the first portion of this epic works, which deals with the first 60th of the Holy Quran, is being released in the Arabic and English languages as ‘The Lights of Revelation & the Secrets of Interpretation’. This is the first critical Arabic edition, English translation and book-length study of the text in English.
